Concept Observations – Affixes
Help deepen your inquiry into how language works with this set of concept cards investigating affixes. Looking at word history and its connection to meaning, the form and function of affixes and other ideas connected to spelling, reading and writing.
A set of research and question cards based around the IB PYP key concepts. Learners can choose a a concept card to help them focus and guide and their inquiries. Each concept has three cards with different levels of questioning. The questions are
- Right There questions – When we ask these questions we are looking for information that is easily accessible or visible.
- Think and Search questions- When we ask these questions we are looking for information that is in the book but we need to connect ideas or draw conclusions.
- On Your Own questions – When we ask these questions we are looking for people to share judgments or opinions. The answers are about exploring big ideas or underlying messages
