Inquiry learning – What can inquiry look like? (Picture cards)

Inquiry learning- What can Inquiry look like?

Inquiry learning is built on the constructivist approach to learning. Constructivist as the name suggests – means to construct or build ideas and understandings.

Learners can develop meaning if frameworks/scaffolding was offered, where learners would be active agents in the learning process, which would take place in social spaces and build on a student’s prior knowledges. Language had a primary role in this construction of meaning and also as a medium of social exchange.

This set of cards provides a glimpse into some of the different ways people ‘build’ new ideas through an inquiry approach to learning.

Aim: These cards can be used both by teachers and students to plan, reflect and examine the learning process
