Stories, texts, images and words are all tools that help construct and build our understanding of the world. Stories contain a power, magic that help us explore possibility before we reach reality, to engage with ideas and identity claims as we construct our own claims about ourself. Picture books, whether the reader is young or old are a perfect tool for exploring ideas, attitudes, skills, perspectives and understandings connected to an inquiry topic or conceptual theme.
